Rhonda
Tallnash is a children’s book author and bush poet who has published a number of rhyming illustrated stories, each boasting
a unique Aussie flavour. Rhonda has performed in many schools and libraries,
and has been guest speaker at special events throughout Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia. She also speaks to audiences about the important of oral language in children’s lives and how this
significantly contributes to their future literacy skills.
Rhonda was a finalist at the 2012 Tamworth
Country Music Festival ‘Golden Damper’ Bush Poetry Competition (Performance Section). In March 2012 she competed in The National Bush Poetry Championships as part of The Man from Snowy River
Festival at Corryong and won The Jack Riley Heritage Award – Original Banjo’s Country Poem for ‘Fair Dinkum
Ned’. She also came second in the Original Performed Poem - Humorous (Open
Women’s) Section for the same poem and won the Intermediate Section with her performance of ‘Flowers for Josie’.
Rhonda writes about the animals she has known
and quirky things that take her interest. Only writing in rhyme due to a warped
